Hello Petals,

A little haul post for you, I haven't ventured anywhere special for awhile so I just purchased these bits and bobs in my local town.

I am attempting to buy a few bits and pieces for my holiday, then after that hopefully grab a few days in Manchester or Jersey not sure yet.........I know both are vastly different from one another!

Ok to start off the haul we have Soap and Glory's Hand Food

I have already started using this and it smells delicious, almost edible!
It contains Shea Butter, Macadamia Oil and Marshmallow yum yum!

St. Tropez Gradual Tan Everday Body Moisturiser
This was just an impulse buy I persuaded myself I wanted to try it out. So watch this space for a review.

This was purchased to turn my tootsies into twinkle toes ready for my holiday

  Ponds Light Day Cream :)

Botanics Skin Brightening Cleanser

And of course The Cult Botanics Soothing Eye Makeup remover

So lots of little treats for me to play with

Topshop makeup

I have heard alot if good things about topshop cosmetics. It has been on a lot of other bloggers lips cheek and nails. I went to a larger topshop store approx 20 miles from my home.

I scurried along to topshop as fast as my 28 inch legs and size 3 feet could take me to be faced with a stand which was no bigger than than a lunch box. I was disappointed so am going to resort to ordering the little goodies online.

Off On A Tangent

Our health is our most important aspect of our lives, but when you are a parent your child's health is much more important.

I want this post to allow people to understand the importance of the NHS (for those in foreign countries National Health Service) for the children within our nation. As you may already be aware the BBC are showing an 8 part programme on the Children's Acute Transport Service (CATS).

CATS are a service that run nation wide and allows the transportation for a critically ill child from a local hospital, to a larger hospital with a specialised Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

This is quotes from the NHS CATS website:

CATS stabilises and transports children needing intensive care from over 50 district general hospitals in the North Thames region and East Anglia to critical care units in London and the South East. In addition, we retrieve ECMO patients to Great Ormond Street Hospital from PICUs across the UK. As one of the largest services in Europe, we retrieve over 1200 critically ill children each year by road and air. The CATS Referral Hotline is staffed 24/7 by experienced administrators who ensure that every referral for intensive care is promptly routed to senior clinical staff on duty. Instant advice is provided by a CATS consultant, who can also teleconference appropriate specialists (e.g. cardiologists, neurosurgeons) to make a rapid decision about when to mobilise the retrieval team.

This is a fantastic service that the NHS runs and has saved thousands of children's lives. As a student nurse I got the opportunity to work in my local Intensive Care Unit where we were caring for a critically ill child. The child needed to be transferred to Kings College Hospital in London for critical specialist treatment. The South Thames Retrieval Service arrived at the hospital within a couple of hours, the practitioners on board were the highest specialised professionals, and the transported the child with ease and knowledge.

Please please watch this programme, it really opens your eyes to the good the NHS does. Its quite refreshing to see good publicity for a service that has been in work for 60 years.

This service allows hope for the parents of a critically ill child.

I hope this has not bored anyone and I know it is not my usual topic of thought, but I thought I would tell you of a wonderful cause that gives a critically ill child a second chance, and this is something that is very close to my heart.

Long Time, No Post

It certainly has bee a while, I currently have a bit more time on my hands as I am working as a community nurse for the best part of 4 weeks. I am working in a charming little village and rural outskirts its really enchanting I shall have to take pictures and post them.

I have been parting with my money while my blog has been left vacant, in reflection mainly nail products.

No.7 Speed Dry Polish
in Violetta
OPI Thanks So Muchness

OPI Mod About You

I have be lusting after Thanks So Muchness and Mod About You for such a longtime.

I have a growing obsession for anything OPI, China Glaze and Mavala, I think this could be an expensive addiction.

Next is N07 Stay Perfect in Totally Teal, I am infatuated with anything from Navy Blue to Teal, But I have a sneaky feeling this will stain one's nails.

Yet another N07 Polish in the Anniversary Collection and the colour is 50's Bobby Socks
The assistant who works on the N07 counter where I live now knows me by name, she was the one who suggested for me to try this polish, I even got it a week before it was released so thanks!

Revlon's Tropical Temptation

I shant bore you girlies anymore, but gosh there are going to be some NOTD pictures coming up

A petite rant

Just as it says I am going to have a small moan. I have to release it or I am going to be moody and angry til next week!

Today was work on the ward, and I always go to work happy and open minded. There was a particular person whom I did not mould well with someone whom I work with.

I am a student nurse who qualifies (fingers crossed) in September, so this is my last block of "placements" so I am now in the role of a registered nurse. Delegation is an important aspect to the job.

I am very pro equality in the work place and would never put anybody down, but you have to know the boundaries your role has. So to have someone who isnt qualified bossing you around get quite annoying when its you who should be delegating jobs to them as in a way you are their supervisor.

This really rubbed me up the wrong way!

Rant over

Whimsical Sunday

I believe that Sundays should always be light hearted and fanciful, and I deteste working on sundays. But little lucky me had the day off today :) and as I have to be on the ward at 06.45am (english time my lovelies) tomorrow morning, I did not want to have a strenous day.

Saturday involved shopping in the city nearest me (but sadly not London) with beau and the friends, which meant embarking on the department store which stocks my beloved OPI.

I was unsuccessful in finding a wedding outfit, I may have to recycle a previous dress which saddens me, also do you think I could have a change of outfit half way throught the day for the reception, or is this me being shallow lol?

Anyway I did recieve a little present from the beau, which was an OPI polish :)
I will do some nail swatches for you on a day off I may have in the near future. I am already deciding on my next OPI purchases (wow I am so lame lol).

I am currently watching the re runs of Russell Howard's Good News, (In England Russell is a comedian) and have actually developed a crush for Mr Howard. Not my usual type, but I think every day with this guy would be a right laugh.
So Russell if your reading (which I doubt very much) hook me up yeah!? lol

Talk to you petals later

The spice of my life

Working as a nurse is a brilliant job, life long learning, respect and of course buliding a rapport with people everyday.
One of the downsides to working in the hospital is that we have to have toned down make up, and strictly no nail polish.........under no circumstances :( *tear*

So for OPI to release Hong Kong Collection I thought this was damn right unfair :-)

My nails and toenails have been crossed, dying for local department store to get them in stock sooner rather than later.Lucky Lucky Lavender was originally the first colour I had set my eyes on

All this changed when I quickly hurried into the department store, when I should have been sitting nicely and paying attention in a very tedious lecture.  Seeing the OPI stand made my regrets of skipping class just float away.

Jade is the new black was the colour I decided to treat myself, as it caught my eye. And whos knows if I play my cards right the beau will buy me a few more this weekend when we embark on a magical shopping adventure, mainly because I need an outfit for the beau's cousins wedding, perhaps an OPI to match my outfit?

What colour should I sport for the wedding?

Review: L'Oreal Elvive Nourish & Shimmer Highlights Shampoo and Conditioner

Afternoon again kittens,

I have another review to dish out :)

Naturally I have dark blonde hair almost mousy brown, my skin is too pale to go darker so I made the decision last year to go blonder but cunningly with highlights, going lighter and lighter each time I have them re-done.

The genius of having naturally dark blond hair is when my highlights grow out slightly you cant really notice the difference :) But thats not to say I am lazy.

I have tried John Frieda's Blonde option shampoos and conditioner, and I was not overly struck by them.

I have also tried V05's selection of blonde shampoos and conditioner, and was more impressed than John Freida.

Introducing L'Oreal Elvive Nourish and Shimmer Highlights Shampoo and Conditioner.

What The Company Say:

The brightness of your highlights can fade. To keep them looking their best, you need a specific, targeted care, for touchably soft hair and bright, illuminated shine.

L’Oreal Paris has created its first nourishing conditioner enriched with Royal Jelly and Brighteners that provides specific, targeted care for highlighted hair.

L’Oreal Paris has created its first nourishing conditioner enriched with Royal Jelly and Brighteners that provides specific, targeted care for highlighted hair.

My Opinion:

The scent of this shampoo and conditioner collection reminds me of Milk and Honey, and is a welcome change from the usual scent of Lemon and Camomile which alot of blonde shampoo and conditioner collections carry.

The shampoo lathers very quickly and easily worked into the hair, and full of scent. The conditioner is creamy and instantly glided through my hair, I left the conditioner on for about 3 mins and combed it through, then rinsed my hair through.

I blow dry my hair rather than letting it dry naturally as I am quite impatient, with other blonde products that I have used on my hair leave it tangled and sometimes matted, but with L'Oreal I was able to comb through my hair after I had towel dried it without much effort.

Price: £2.45 each in Boots :) 5/5

Packaging: Clean Lines, I was able to tell the difference between the shampoo and conditioner easy. Also the way the bottles are designed when they were near emptying it was easy to get the rest of the products out. 5/5

Product: I shall be buying this again was very impressed 5/5

On a side note, for something alittle different go check out Beauty Judge, its home to review on beauty products from Highstreet to Highend. You can win free products and meet some great people on their who share the same love for Beauty Hair and Fashion:

P.S. I was not approached by L'Oreal for this review nor was I given the products by the company :)

Snow Day

Good afternoon petals, Today in my little part of Britain it is a complete white out :)

Where I live is no where near as beautiful as this, but it is very snowy and fresh.

I cant get to the hospital to go to work so I thought I should revel in the snow :)

Spring Clean

Indeed by the title it is apparent I am having a spring clean in room.

I have problems with cleaning my room, its not that I am awfully messy, it is that when I do partake in the cleaning activity, I find items I may have misplaced or forgot I had. Today this has happened to me :)

I told you in an earlier post that I have a small journal/diary type book I recieved for Christmas

Not as pretty as those above its quite simple.

I have a some tasks to complete for 2010
well tasks is the wrong title to use, places I would like to venture to.

There you go just a small insight

Wishlist: February

Hello Petals,

As you can tell, I have quite a bit of free time on my hands. My neice jessica is 11 months old and is keeping herslef amused with her activity table and America's Next Top Model.............ok thats on for my amusement, but she loves it too so everyone is happy :)

At the moment in the sparkly world beauty and fashion there is so much I want, but as usual with my student wages I can not afford everything that I want. TYPICAL!

Valentines day is on its way round, maybe I could treat myself, or be treated ;-p
Marc Jacobs Lola

This as well as Nina Ricci's Ricci Ricci, was on my Christmas List, but Santa decided Nina Ricci would be more deserving. So I am still eagerly waiting for this................Valentines Day anyone!?

Disney Couture Alice in Wonderland Wrap Bracelet

For along time I have wanted this, and its very fitting dont you think, I have a sneaky feeling a family member has purchased one as a present, cant let too much away :)

Urban Decay: Alice Palette

Something Alittle Different

Last Night I could not sleep for the life of me, and this morning I had to be up early to babysit my neice Jessica. But anyways last night I needed to find something to do other than "count sheep".

I was flicking through pictures of this years Grammy Awards, I came across a picture of Lady GaGa:

Does anyone think this is alittle toned down for the Lady of GaGa?
I actually quite like it in a strange fairytale way, the intricacies and design of the dress. Who designed the dress I hear you ask? Armani PrivĂ© thats who.

According to the Telegraph, Armani Privé was inspired by the Sky at Night for his Haute Couture Collection of Spring/Summer 10.

Lets take a look at some of Lady GaGa's wackier ensembles :)

Only she could pull off right?

So what do you think Lady GaGa's most eccentric garments are?

Must get back to the small infant now

Love Love

Review: Neutrogena Deep Clean 2-in-1 Invigorating Wash and Mask

What Neutrogena say:
NEUTROGENA Deep Clean® Invigorating 2-in-1 Wash and Mask works in two ways to cleanse deep into pores and leave your skin feeling refreshed and invigorated. Use as a cooling daily wash to remove dirt, oil and make-up or as a weekly mask to experience the fresh sensation as the clay formula cleanses deep into pores without overdrying.

What I Think:
I purchased this product when I last had a breakout, and was in desperation on what to do. I purchased this from Sainsbury's Supermarket, for approx £3-4 as I think it had money off.
I shower every morning, so I added this to my routine. The product is a blue almost clay like substance that is smooth, I applied it to a wet face and almost instantly I felt the cooling products of the menthol that is an ingrediant within this cleansing wash as well as salicylic acid.

I noticed after using this wash my face was left smooth, and less shiny. After 2 weeks I had next to no breakouts, I am so so pleased

What is your go to cleanser?

~*December/January*~

I joined the gym (NYE resolution shift the cupcake love)
